Barnsley Youth Choir

Barnsley Youth Choir has over 250 members and aspires to be the most inspirational and innovative organisation for young singers in the region. We create outstanding training opportunities for young people, give exceptional performances, empower young people, strengthen connections throughout the local community and create a flagship ensemble to represent the town on a local, national and international stage.

How Many (concerts)?: Usually around 6 performances a year.
When, Generally?: We have performed in large national venues such as the Olympic Stadium, Stratford Circus, Bridgewater Hall. In Barnsley we perform at Horzion Community College and Emmanuel Church. Both Venues hold 400 and all concerts during the last 4 years have been sold out. We perform with a number of international choirs. Also in International Competitions.

Who funds the choir?: Voluntary. We have a range of schemes to support the choir such as the patrons scheme and take part in fundraising to make it viable.
